🚀 We’re now Live with SEBI-Validated UPI ID (@valid) for Secure & Seamless Payments!

At 5paisa, we’re committed to delivering a secure, transparent & compliant payment experience for all our investors.
In line with SEBI’s latest circular, we’ve successfully adopted standardized, validated & exclusive UPI IDs (@valid) for collecting payments via UPI mode.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: What does this mean for investors?

As per SEBI Circular (SEBI/HO/DEPA-II/DEPA-II_SRG/P/CIR/2025/86) dated 11th June 2025, all SEBI-registered intermediaries (including 5paisa Capital Limited) must use validated and exclusive UPI handles to ensure uniformity, traceability & enhanced security in payment transactions.

Investors can continue using their preferred payment methods — UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, or Net Banking.
However, if you choose to make payments via UPI, please ensure it’s done only through the new SEBI-validated UPI IDs.

Q1. Is it compulsory for the investors to use the new handle only for funds pay-in?
:right_arrow: No. You can continue using any payment mode apart from UPI for funds pay-in.
If you choose UPI, you must use the new validated UPI IDs allotted to registered intermediaries.

Q2. What should I check while making payments using the new UPI IDs / QR Code?

:right_arrow: Investors need to keep following things into consideration:

:small_blue_diamond: The UPI ID should show the name of the intermediary (5paisa)

:small_blue_diamond: If there is any Payment Aggregator involved, then the UPI ID should show the short abbreviation of PA name, for example “cf” for Cashfree, “rzp” for Razorpay, etc.

:small_blue_diamond: The UPI ID should show the short abbreviation of their category, for example “brk” for Brokers, “mf” for Mutual Funds to the left of the “@” character.

:small_blue_diamond: On the right side of the “@”, the new and exclusive handle “@valid” should be present, followed by the bank name.

Q3. Do investors also need to obtain new UPI handles to transact in the securities market?
:right_arrow: No. This change applies only to intermediaries. You can continue using your existing UPI IDs for transactions.

Q4. What if my transaction fails with the new UPI ID?
:right_arrow: The new validated UPI IDs use the same banking infrastructure as before. In case of any issue, please contact your bank or write to us at support@5paisa.com.

Q5. How do I make payment using the Valid UPI ID?
:right_arrow: Simply go to the ‘Add Funds’ section on the 5paisa App or Web platform and continue with your existing UPI payment flow — no change required at your end.

Q6. Where will I get to see the new Valid UPI ID?
:right_arrow: During the payment process, when you’re redirected to or switch to your chosen UPI app to approve the transaction, you’ll be able to see the new Valid UPI handle (@valid) on the payment screen which you can cross-verify before completing the payment.

Q7. How to cross-check the valid UPI handle?
:right_arrow: Investors can verify the valid UPI handle by visiting SEBI’s official portal:

Enter the required details to confirm the authenticity of the UPI handle as shown below:

:warning: Important Note:

As mentioned above, it is strongly recommended to initiate your payment journey from the 5paisa App or Web platform for real-time updation of Ledger & Margin.

If you initiate the payment directly from any of your UPI app by manually entering 5paisa’s Valid UPI ID, the Third-Party Validation (TPV) will not occur in real-time — resulting in a delay (~ T+1 or T+2 days) in ledger & margin updates .

Hence, for a seamless & instant credit experience, please always start the payment journey from the 5paisa platform (App/Web) - ‘Add Funds’ section instead of directly from any UPI app.
